We have never been to Gordonsville and we wanted to try something different. Shenandoah Crossing is a Bluegreen resort, so we knew that it would be nice. And we were to stay in a cabin, which would be different. It was small but nice. And it was in the woods which added to the cabin feel.

It was a beautiful area, but there was not as much to do as there is around Massanutten. So we will probaby not return.

We ate at 3 nice restaurants right in Gordonsville. The BBQ Exchange was awesome! Busy, but very organized and we went through a long line in a quick fashion. I would eat there again!

We had almost decided not to go to The Champion Icehouse, but decided to go on the last night because it was so close. And it was totally worth it! Best fried chicken we have had in a long time! I would recommend.

The other was the Well Hung Vineyard. While it was nice, it was not nice enough that I would return. My steak was tough, but with good flavor. I got a flight of wine, but the waitress failed to tell me which was which….

We ate at Bonefish Grill in Charlottesville, which has never dissappointed us, and this time was no different. The other restaurant that we tried in Charlottesville was Shadwells. It was awesome. It is a must try if you are in the area.

And the last was The Piedmont Steakhouse in Culpepper. My sister and her husband met us there. I had the steak and it was incredible! Cooked perfect and a great piece of meat! Afterwards we walked around the downtown section and it was quaint. A nice town and I was glad that we went there.

The thing that impressed me the most was the farms. They were huge and well manicured. I have never seen so much fencing in my life. Most were for horses or cattle.

And while we will not be going back, we throughly enjoyed the whole vacation!
