We rarely go to Bethany Beach and I am not sure why? It took less than 45 minutes to get there and it is not nearly as busy as the more nothern beach towns. So we had a ton of vacation time and decided to try a timeshare in Bethany for my birthday week. It was Summer Place and the experience was awesome! We will be doing this again.
Bethany’s claim to fame is that it is the quiet beach. And it certainly lived up to that!
There were a lot of things closed but we found plenty to do. Of course we were looking more for relaxation than excitement.
It was our first time at The Cottage Cafe. And it will not be the last! For my birthday dinner I had the prime rib special. It was awesome. So awesome that we went back for a second meal. I had a mushroom stuffed with spinach and topped with a crab cake. This was the biggest mushroom that I have ever seen! Another home run. Margo had fish both times. We will not wait for a vacation to go back.
We went to Fenwick and ate at Harpoon Hannas. I had lobster tail, shrimp, and scallops in a butter sauce. It was delicious. And the views were just as nice.
We ate at Fins twice as well. And it was excellent as always. Fins and The Cottage Cafe were just across the highway from the Summer Place.
We also rode up to Lewes and ate at Bethany Blues for the first time. It was the best BBQ meal that we have ever had. We will be going back for sure. And while we were up north we went to some outlet stores. They were less than impressive. We will not be doing that again.
So this vacation did give us some much needed relaxation but also a fresh new look at Bethany Beach and some new restaurants that we can drive to at any time.
