They say that swans mate for life. So like people it is a sad day when a mate is lost.
Today I found a lonely swan on the ice. He was just sitting there. Looking kind of lost.
So I grabbed the Nikon and went down for a few shots. Well even in his lonely state, he knew that he did not want to be bothered by me. So he casually walked away.
I just could not get it out of my mind. Sort of like Johnny and June Cash. He was just lost without his mate.
I guess that I still need some work with that video!

Looks lonely
The sound on Nikon DSLRs still leaves a lot to be desired… I think this year’s models showed some improvement, but it’s going to be another generation before they really figure it out. At least with the new rigs you can do an external microphone.
